Ghigigi As is their M.O., The Physics House Band have put out another stellar, albeit quite brief, release. This 15-minute EP is built around a singular dark riff and features strong interplay between the keys, guitar, and sax.

Osama A No idea Lee did collaborative work like this. Sequence III gives you that feeling of a song that knows more than you or knows something you don't. It harks back to my quiet fixed route school bus days listening to music on my Sony MZ-R900 mini disc player. When everything made sense, song titles futuristically scrolling by themselves back lit in blue. I can also see Lee's sarcastic gestures uttered to a nondescript crowd Favorite track: Death Sequence iii feat. Stewart Lee.

Jeremy Saville Horisons / Rapture blew my nuts off. I'll be listening to that for many years to come.

This at least gave my nuts a stiff breeze and I'm loving the Stewart Lee feat. track. Will listen for a couple years at least. Favorite track: Death Sequence iii feat. Stewart Lee.

Peter Jones The Physics House Band bring us another unearthly vision here... Death Sequence, as a single piece of music, simply spans the imagination and draws you in.

Dave Morgan's drumming is a solid basis, the music floating above, weaving, straining and freeing itself.

This is truly beyond genre. It's jazz. It's heavy metal. It's progressive rock. It's "classic rock". It's "classical" music. It's a skilful, musical work that just demands your complete attention.

about

Death Sequence is a digital only release on Unearthly Vision.

The Physics House Band are Sam Organ (guitar/keys), Adam Hutchison (bass/keys), Dave Morgan (drums) and Miles Spilsbury (saxophone/keys). The four create avant-garde compositions that capture everything from jazz to prog to psych to doom-metal, all combined together with a furious energy transcending to their mind-bending live shows. Their recently completed third record explores further into the expanses of intense darkness and light. Soft ambient synths explode into chaotic battles between angular guitars and saxophones. The gentle moments are softer, the intense moments more visceral than ever. This is a band that has to be experienced live.

The bulk of this record was written over a two week period in a secluded farmhouse turned studio on Start Point, a Devonshire headland located between the English channel and the Celtic Sea. Ideas were stripped back and rebuilt relentlessly over the fortnight until pieces emerged, becoming more chaotic and dense as the cabin fever drew ever closer. This record is a reflection of that time – the madness that comes from such an insular experience, but also the peace and gentleness of being removed from the constant overstimulation of the city.

The Physics House Band have toured performed notable shows with supported the likes of Alt-J, Omar Rorriguez-Lopez, Django Django, Tera Melos, LITE, Jaga Jazzist and gained major support from BBC Radio 6 Music, NPR, Anthony Fantano / The Needle Drop, The Guardian, The Independent, The Quietus + more
